Travel Along with Dave & Sharon: Join us as we end our third year of RV traveling as we explore America's Most Haunted Sites. We had a dream and now we are living that dream of traveling across this great land in our little house on wheels with our Welsh Pembroke Corgi dog named BooBoo. We are currently investigating haunted sites in Arizona. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ International Ghost Hunters Society Newsletter January 25, 2004 from Deming, New Mexico Dr. Dave’s Notes: Our radio program with Brad Steiger on the syndicated Jeff Rense was a blazing success. Brad is such a gentleman and scholar. Brad and his wife have authored more than 160 books on the paranormal and is considered the foremost authority on the paranormal. Brad has also seen balls or orbs of light, his first going back to age 17. His current book, Ghosts, Restless Spirits and Haunted Places contain one of our adventures at a haunted arts and crafts store, where Sharon photographed our first ghost photo that contained a vortex that cast a shadow. His book, Ghosts, Restless Spirits and Haunted Places, is 615 pages filled with interesting stories and photos. During the two-hour program, we mentioned that while we were interviewing a lady in Globe, Arizona who was relating how haunted one of the buildings that she uses to work in many years ago. She confessed that she was terrified of being in the building alone. While she was relating some of her scary experiences, I was recording her story with our digital recorder. The next day I transcribed her comments into my text editing program for later inclusion in our next book due out in 2005, which by the way is our eleventh book. As I was listening to the digital recorder, I heard an ethereal voice say, “Guilty!” A second ethereal voice said, “You’re right!” Apparently, the ghost had acknowledged that he was guilty of scaring the woman who was speaking about her scary experiences and a second ghost confirmed that the first ghost was guilty. Clearly this interactive response to what she was sharing with us suggests that this ethereal voice was positioned somewhere close to us and was listening to what she was saying. The ethereal voice was very clear and specific. Skeptics who suggest that these ethereal voices are actually voices picked up by the recorder from radio stations simply have no field experiences. I have recorded probably over 500 ethereal voices, which we simply call ghost voices or EVP, and in all of these recordings, we have never found any of the voices to be from local radio stations. It is easy to be a skeptic, it does not require an open mind, but a mind set that is closed to the import of new information that might confront their stagnant cosmological view of life and death. A skeptic does not have to offer valid explanation that can be duplicated each and every time, but an explanation that sounds logical knowing that no one is going to ask him or her to prove it. One skeptic wrote me and said he once picked up a radio station from his digital recorder. Perhaps some early generations of digital recorders might be capable of receiving radio signals, but with today's improvements, I have never heard of it happening to anyone active in this field. We have hundreds of ghost hunters using digital recorders and none of them are experiencing this phenomena. Again, a logical explanation without substantial evidences is generally the trademark of a skeptic. Conversely, we have substantial evidence to suggest that these ethereal voices are not coming from any radio signals, but from beyond the grave. We have recorded these 500 plus EVP recordings from all over the United States, not just from a single locality. We have recorded EVP voices from Central America and found that except for the language, the other qualities are present as they are from the haunts of the USA. The ethereal voices recorded in a German cemetery speak in German, voices from a French cemetery speak in French, and voices recorded in a Polish cemetery are speaking Polish. Ghosts will speak the language in death that they spoke while living. Think about it, this only makes common sense. If I spoke English and died, why would I suddenly be speaking French? I do not know French. At death, we do not suddenly acquire knowledge of other languages. At death, we still retain our emotions and our emotional hang-ups. Death does not free us of those energy configurations we know as emotions. This understanding comes from our intense study and research of the ethereal voices we have recorded over the past 14 years. We travel the back roads of American seeking out the new haunts not previously reported or publicized. We document the historical hauntings that have influenced the lives of men and women who have experienced them. We do not report on folklore or Urban legends, but actual hauntings that generally have been occurring and reoccurring over the last fifty years. The books we write are about true life stories about the relationships between the living and the phantoms that haunt our imagination and sometimes walk among the living. The otherworldly visitors to the land of the living can be shocking as well as intimidating. Our lives revolve around what we know and what we accept. Our parents, our schools, even our ministers do not teach us about the ethereal entities that may suddenly appear in our lives and turn our world upside down. Once we remove our blinders, we discover a whole new dimension to life. We may surf the Net to find answers, but all we find are contradictions and a lack of understanding the paranormal experience. Sharon and I are deeply involved in research into that aspect of our lives when we cross beyond the grave. We are not part time ghost hunters and full time employed in some other profession, but we are full time researchers and full time investigator. Our lives revolve around the research and investigations we conduct daily. We share our findings on our web site and in this Newsletter and in the books, we have written. The next book, American Hauntings Investigated will hit the street on June 1 and is filled with our adventures from the previous year. The current book we are writing will contain the investigations we do have conducted since April of 2003 to present and will hit the bookshelves next year. We will be returning to Arizona to complete the balance of our investigations after we hold our Albuquerque Seminar in mid-February. We will then return to New Mexico and continue our investigations in Northern New Mexico that we were not able to get to last year. We will continue to record new and exciting ethereal voices and continue to learn more about the realm that exist beyond the grave. Happy trails. Dr. Sharon Gill: I would like to share a previous Tid Bits for Travel -- It has been quite a while since I have had interesting or humorous events to share. The one I will be telling you about happened recently and I still laugh when I think about it. It isn't quite as funny as Boo finding fun in cow pies but it is interesting how things transpired. It was not only funny, but what I learned from the experience was amazing. Dave grew up on a farm in Oregon. To Dave, there is only one vegetable worth eating, outside of a regular diet of meat and potatoes, that being corn. I have learned to watch Dave because at times I have found corn hidden in the morning pancakes or among the scrambled eggs. He gets the notion sometimes that food needs more color, flavor, or fill. Recently, it seemed as though everything we were eating had yellow kernels in it, becoming as common as salt and pepper. I wondered how I could bring this up to Dave without the lecture on corn being food for the Gods! In the last few weeks, we have found fresh corn on the cob in the stores in New Mexico. We have not found fresh yellow corn for ages so it has really been a treat for both of us. We actually found fresh corn on the cob for ten cents an ear, at one store in Albuquerque. It was beautiful corn with big, juicy yellow kernels just waiting to be eaten. We looked forward to indulging ourselves in its sweetness. But, outside of the fresh corn, I was still finding canned yellow kernels in just about everything. Enough is enough, especially being very fond of spinach, myself. I decided to make my move and say something brilliant. We had put a movie on to watch as we relaxed to eat our dinner. Dining is casual for us as we travel. I dipped my fork into the hamburger mixture on my plate and sure enough, there was the corn, mixed in very well. I thought for a few minutes as I ate. I turned to Dave and said, “You know Dave, I have been hearing a lot on the radio about a strange yellow fungus that is showing up everywhere. They are saying if a person eats too much of it, it can be deadly.” Dave responded with, “Really?” I could tell I had his full attention, especially with the fast action movie playing loudly on the television. Kidding around as I was, the subject did not come up again. Not until days later while we were in the grocery store. Walking through the vegetable section, I mentioned we might want to see if they had fresh corn. Dave said, “No, not with the threat of that yellow fungus out there.” I about dropped my teeth in the fresh tomatoes! I turned to look at him and said, “There is no yellow fungus, I was teasing you about finding corn in everything.” I was amazed that he had even heard me let alone, remembered what I had told him. I told him I was just joking about there being a yellow fungus. Dave got a very strange look on his face about that time. I asked him what was wrong. He looked at me and said, “You mean there is no yellow fungus, and I didn't need to thrown our beautiful corn away?” Time suddenly stood still and the store faded as I pictured that long awaited, beautiful fresh corn in a dumpster somewhere. My mouth fell open and I asked him if he had really trashed our long awaited corn on the cob. Once the shock of this information passed, reality hit me and I started to laugh. I could not stop laughing at the thought of what I had just learned. He did indeed, listen to what I was telling him and in trying to protect us from illness or worse, had discarded that corn on the cob that we had wanted for so long. We have not found decent fresh yellow corn for probably five years so finding it was special. The cost was down, as it used to be years ago and it was beautiful stuff. Ladies, I know you can relate to the men in your lives not always paying attention to what you say. At times, Dave may not hear me or he may get distracted and forget what we talk about, but I never dreamed he was listening to me about the outbreak of yellow fungus. So somewhere, in a dumpster in New Mexico, there were six beautiful ears of corn drying up and rotting away. What a sad thought that is. I still find yellow kernels in my food but I just eat them and I don't say a word. The days of yellow fungus are gone and the threat exists no more. Ghosts of Old Town Plaza Seminar: Join Dave & Sharon on February 14, 2004 for a ghost seminar in beautiful, sunny Albuquerque, New Mexico. We love New Mexico and what better weekend for a special get away then at Old Town Plaza, known as the City of the Dead because there is an unwritten saga that suggests that the dead were buried in the floors and walls of the adobe homes within this community. We will devote the afternoon to hands on investigations of various haunts in Old Town. This is not one of those stuffy, stand offish type seminars, but one where you roll up your sleeves and apply what you’re learning, side by side with Dave & Sharon. Check out our seminar page at http://www.ghostweb.com/oldtown.html. All events are within walking distance of your hotel. We limit the size of the seminar group to allow more time for personal instructions on a one to one basis. San Antonio Ghost Conference: We are preparing for our 2004 Annual Ghost Conference this year that will be held in San Antonio, Texas on June 12th and will focus on the ghosts of the Alamo and the Old Spanish Missions, with the Alamo being one of these old Spanish Missions. The new film, Alamo, will be released in the coming months and will portray the heroic battle that took place. While history has recorded 183 men died in the Alamo, recent documents have surfaced that suggest that the number of men fighting at the Alamo was closer to 250. All events are within walking distance of your hotel. We will have limited seating due to the meeting room limitations, so do not delay registering with Dave & Sharon. Why would this battle site be haunted? The bodies of those killed at the Alamo were burned like cords of wood, and so many of the spirits probably cried out for recognition, as in a tomb stone that marked their mortal remains. Many of the defenders would have unfinished business or unresolved issues that might anchor them to the area. Check out http://www.ghostweb.com/alamo1.html. Digital Ghost Photography Handbook: Confused about orbs? What are dust orbs and how do they relate to real ghost orbs? Read our 20 page thermal bound book or download the PDF book and discover how digital photography is the wave of the future. We have been using digital since 1994 and we share with the reader, which are the best digital cameras on the market today. We also share what to look for when purchasing a digital camera and provide some protocols to avoid falling into the dust orb trap. Check it out at http://www.ghostweb.com/booklet2.html. How to Record and Analyze Ghost Voices: Susan Olson of Riverside, California writes, "I LOVE your new EVP booklet! For a long time now, I have experimented with digital recording to no avail. The information in your booklet helped me to get better recordings without background static! Thanks so much and keep up the good work!" Our new book will disclose our time tested techniques in a step by step procedure that is easy to understand and to apply. The book, available via PayPal or through our Online Secure Order Form, will become a resourceful guide to understanding how to perform the investigation and how to operate the software for evaluating the ghostly voices. Check out the book at http://www.ghostweb.com/booklet.html. We ship via Priority Mail through the Post Office, not the slow boat to China known as Media Mail that takes several weeks to arrive at an address. CD Version Home Study Courses: We offer two CD versions, one with the Home Study Course in PDF format that can be read by any hardware or software with the free Adobe Acrobat Reader, version 4 or higher. This option is for those using the Mac Operating system or PC computer with an operating system that is not Windows based. We also offer the second version on the CD as the HTM version for PC computers using Wins95, Wins98, WindowsMe, and WindowsXP. The added features of this CD version, includes color photographs of spiritual orbs, spirit energy ectoplasm, a full body apparition and samples of ordinary airborne dust particles we call dust orbs that fool so many people. The separate Photo Analysis CD is now a part of the CD version. In addition, a printed copy can be made from CD, as in the printed version. We have also added ghostly EVP voices captured by us during our travels, such as the Confederate rebel commenting about the 20th Maine boys at Little Round Top or the Peyton Place Gossip found in a 1753 Cemetery about Mary is a Peach. Listen to an old miner recorded at a mining camp in Nevada or the ghostly morbid whine of a ghost dog, perhaps standing over the body of his murdered master captured in the Cascade Mountains of Oregon where a 1900s rancher and his family was murdered. The CD version is “HTM” based, this is not a “PDF” version, but a true “HTM” version that opens and functions as a web page. We have updated the material and even included a message from Dr. Dave Oester. Buyers from around the world have purchased the new CD version. We pay the shipping charges for Priority Mail in the USA, International Air Mail to Canada and for ten dollars more, we ship it by Global Priority Mail to Europe and Asia.
