We will be departing on Tuesday for San Antonio and any late comers will have to pay at the door for admission to our conference. We have posted some more great photos by David Brandt of supercharged orbs captured in his living room. He is one of the few who is able to record continuous visitors to his home. These supercharged orbs radiate light and are perhaps the most direct evidence of the paranormal nature of orbs. Yes, David does capture airborne dust orbs, but he discards these environmental orbs. We also have posted a great photo of a red-orange collection of spirit energy that is probably evolving into supercharged orbs in motion. Check them out in our Free Viewing area of ghost photos. When is a ghost, not a ghost? This question has surfaced from time to time as we explore the Many World Theory, also known as the Parallel World or Parallel Dimensions as expressed by quantum mechanics. We do not know when a ghost is a ghost and not a trans-dimensional being from a parallel dimension that is currently overlapping into our dimension. While many ghost hunters get muddled down in debate over orbs and the validity of digital cameras, they do not delve into investigation of possible dimensional shifts and overlapping of parallel dimensions into our own dimension. We have long ago settled the issue surrounding digital cameras. Digital cameras are an excellent tool to use for ghost hunting, but caution must be used and especially common sense. If you point any camera into rain, you will get orbs, but they are rain orbs. Take any digital camera into the backyard and you will probably always get some photos with orbs from the airborne dust particles. This common point of knowledge befuddles many who are out taking digital images of rain drops. What we need is more common sense in ghost hunting. Improper use of the digital camera is the biggest drawback to its use by beginners. Improper techniques that violate our standards and protocols will result in orbs, plenty of orbs, but they are just environmental orb, not paranormal orbs. We got one photo in today that was taken with a 30 second exposure in darkness. A supercharged orb is moving along the bottom of the photo. I sometimes wonder why so many have lost their ability to apply common sense to situations. What we need are more detectives like Sherlock Holmes who will apply logic and deductive reasoning, instead of jumping to conclusions not predicated on fact. Our Home Study Courses will put a ghost hunter into the top five percent of all ghost hunters because we teach what we have learned over the past 28 years of combined experience. We have reformatted how ghost hunting is done. Those who get offended at what I say will still be showing people dust orbs and calling them spirit orbs down the road. It is true that there are many ghost hunters who claim much longer history in this field, but they do not share what if anything, they have learned nor do they teach others how to walk in their shoes. It seems that egos become more important than sharing basic knowledge gained from their investigations. These are the ones who are guests on talk radio and when asked a question about ghosts, generally respond, “I don’t know!” Our Home Study Courses share with the reader everything we discovered to be true, not what is theory and passed down from one generation to the next. For example, we exorcise folk lore and myth and teach what is real and what is happening today, not in terms of myth or lore, but based on scientific analysis. We do not use psychics or mediums as their findings are not verifiable or can be duplicated by others who are not psychics. We rely entirely upon a scientific approach that works for us and will work for the reader. We were the first to offer our experience and knowledge in the form of a home study program back in 1998 when other ghost clubs were still learning how to walk. Our courses are the most comprehensive and detailed on the Internet today. We share with the reader the tools that we use in our investigations. Many of our students have gone into business after completing our courses. Therefore, from the hot and dry desert of New Mexico I wish each of you a good week ahead, and happy trails. Dr. Sharon’s Notes: The world as we know it is kind of topsy-turvy right now. In watching events play out on the nightly news, I started thinking about the roles people play in our daily lives. Our families are important but who is it that we rely on most of the time? Our friends are a big part of every day, sharing in laughter and tears, joy and sorrow, comfort and fears. During our lifetimes, we meet many people. We establish friendships, we share our deepest secrets, we cry together, celebrate together and they become a big part of every day. We lose friends sometimes and it feels like losing a Sister or Brother, the grief being just as painful as losing a family member. Our friends play an important role in our lives and we need them. Friendships are voluntary relationships that we establish with others. Something clicks when we meet certain people and we find we enjoy their company. What may begin with idle talk, leads to a bond of love and trust. Friendships progress to sharing common interests, goals and our deepest secrets. Friends maintain their bond through the best of times and the worst times. When one friend finds themselves in trouble, the other friend runs, not walks, to be there beside them. Is this kind of friend real or a myth? In this day and age, it is sometimes hard to tell. Often, relationships are judged by whether our friends remain by our side during times of adversity. Not only does a real friend share in the joys, but also we feel a real friend would endure the difficult times by our side. One thing most people do not realize is that a true friend may also struggle in sharing the happiest times and the successes a friend may experience. One example of this might be, having a dear friend we share time with, going to lunch once a week or shopping for a woman’s day out. The friends’ husband gets a big promotion at work but it means they will be moving to another city or an upper class neighborhood, leaving you behind. Maybe your dearest friend wins the lottery, able to buy the best of anything she wants while you still putt around in your twelve-year-old bucket of bolts. There is an element in friendship that most of us never consider; in fact, we may shove the feelings aside trying to ignore them. A friend can have conflicting feelings when very good things come into the life of a close friend. We can have feelings of pride in being a friend and yet the subtle feelings of envy or competition may creep into our consciousness. Those are feelings we would never openly express, in fact if anything, we would suppress them immediately. As humans, we suffer from the ambivalence of our own emotions. It is a part of human nature and perfectly normal. The only thing abnormal is when we allow those emotions to take over, going out of control. I once attended a woman’s conference in the town where I lived. A speaker at the conference said that during our lifetimes we would have one close friend. If we are very lucky, we may have two or three close friends, but that is rare. I actually thought that the woman was nuts while listening to her speak. Since that time, I realized she was not so far wrong and I have learned that friendships, like many other things, can be fit into categories. Even friendships are more complex than I ever thought. We have friendships for convenience, meaning there are people we see daily, on the bus or subway, at work or church that we may speak to doing small favors for, but the closeness does not develop and we do not share confidences with them. We keep an emotional distance from them. There are friendships based strictly on special interests. Friends who get together to jog together, play tennis, meet for art classes or meet once a month for a ghost hunters club. Friends in the sense that they enjoy time together for an activity but again there is no emotional closeness. We have friends that we grew up with, the kids next door who grew up going their own ways. These are people that we go to see when visiting our old neighborhood. We share memories of days gone by, the good old days when life was simple yet growing pains were tough. Friends we were close to in childhood but in growing older, we grew apart. We can share the memories of the way things were but as adults, there is an emotional distance. There are friendships established between young and old, one being a mentor to the other. An elder taking an aspiring young person under their wing, teaching them a special skill or passing knowledge so that it will not be lost. Unlike a parent/child relationship, which can bring up a resentment of authority, a cross generational friend is one who is respected and the wisdom shared is accepted without moans and groans. Close friends are those people we are connected to physically and emotionally. The intimacy shared is ongoing, be it by mail, email, telephone or getting together. Close friendships are those where personal feelings, thoughts, and dreams are shared. We not only share thoughts, feelings, dreams, and concerns, we show by our actions the kind of friend we are. In return, there is a trust established and friends overlook the little vices in us while the virtues stand out in their minds. In close, intimate friendships, we share the good and the bad, we relate to each other and listen to advice or welcome a hug when our hearts ache. We grow through relatedness and learn along the way, continuing to grow on a personal level. These are the friendships that warm a cold winter day or make the days and everything in them fuller and brighter. Whether sharing a glass of champagne at wonderful news or taking a pot of chicken soup to a sick friend, it is the close friendships that endure time, that give us pleasure and comfort. Close friends give us the gifts of companionship, keeping loneliness at bay. We all need the assurance that we are not alone, regardless of how independent and self-sufficient we might be. The true friends are those we can call in the middle of the night in times of trouble, knowing they will come to our side. To have a good friend is to be a good friend and in this modern age, we tend to see everything as being disposable. We are a society of mobility, moving more than ever before. We are caught up in our own lives, our own problems and even friendships fall by the wayside. We have gotten away from the neighbor-helping-neighbor way of life through the years. Unless we face a disaster, most people do not speak or seem aware of those around them. The forefront of our thoughts is what we are doing, our goals, working harder to have more, finding some peace after working hard all day and sticking to business. This process has accelerated over the years to the point where people are tired, on edge, and under pressure in a endless cycle of structured routine. We forget the value of close friends and how much friendships enhance our lives. Today, more and more, I see people who are suffering through problems, feeling the need for isolation. We have gone beyond the days when we shared our pain with a close friend, working things out by sharing and listening, getting a different perspective on what we are feeling. The days of sharing with a close friend have come and gone with the availability of psychiatry and pills to numb the pain. The relationship there may involve a sharing of emotion, but there remains a distance between doctor and patient. Our friendships in life give us more than just having other people in our lives. Friendships give us an outlet for sharing ideas, bringing those ideas to reality, sharing the good and bad, laughter, learning and personal growth. It involves giving, comfort and at times, discomfort. Friendships give our lives understanding, patience, and balance. In close friendships we are never alone and can rest assured no matter what may happen to throw our lives out of kilter, a friend will always be right by our side.
