We appreciate the concern and prayers of those who have written to us. My own health has gotten better as I am no longer walking on three legs, but can stand on two. I am sure the added stress of concern for my Mother prolonged my recovery, but thanks to a special lady who did some hands on and remote healing on me, I recovered much faster. I am grateful for her willingness to share her natural healing abilities on my behalf. We are writing this Newsletter on Saturday night from the High Country RV Park in Nephi, Utah. Nephi is a beautiful little Mormon farming community that lies about 50 miles south of Provo, home of Brigham Young University. We posted a great photo of spirit energy taken ten years ago. The second photo sent to us shows dust orbs and two real ghost orbs in motion. Compare the differences between the transparent dust orb and the solid ghost orbs. Check them out in our free viewing area by clicking on the blue button for Ghost Pics. We noticed that the gas prices in San Antonio fell to $1.649 when we left after our Alamo Ghost Conference. In Deming, NM, the price of gas was $1.879. When we drove up to Albuquerque, NM the price was the same, but in Grants, NM, the price dropped to $1.749. In Towaoc, CO, home of the Ute Indian Reservation, the tribal gas station gas price was $1.989. In Green River, Utah, we paid $2.099 for gas and in Nephi, Utah we paid $1.849. It is interesting how the price of gas varies between towns and states. In the pre-Iraq days, we were told that gas prices were dependent on location and how far tankers had to haul the gas. This excuse suddenly went out the window when the price of gas shot out of sight. In remote desert towns, the price was cheaper than in larger cities. I understand that the gas prices in Oregon are like Washington and California, out of sight. The I-5 Interstate highway has connected LA with Seattle and now the entire West coast suffers the same fate as California when it comes to gas prices. There is no rhyme or reason for inflated gas prices, except maybe for profiteering by the gas distributors. Our readers list seems to be constantly growing and membership in the IGHS continues to grow and expand as we add new people to our mailing list. Our last article generated tremendous positive support from our readers. In this day and age political candidates point their fingers to blame everyone else, except them, the article dealt with the importance of accepting responsibility for one's action. We see in the news where a young college woman faked her abduction and the thousands of dollars and man hours that was invested into finding her and her kidnapper, only to find out she was depressed and made up her story of being abducted. She got promotion as her attorney said she was confused and depressed. No where was she made to reimburse the city for the expenses she caused by her lies. She blamed her actions on depression, refusing to accept individual responsibility. How sad. Recently our CD Home Study Courses was sent to a police officer, who is a Detective Inspector in Woking, England. Now, if you were like me, I had no idea where or what was Woking. I checked on the Internet and discovered that Woking was home of H. G. Wells when he wrote the War of the Worlds. I also did some background checking on the police officer who ordered the course, before accepting his payment. It never hurts to be careful in this day and age. Speaking about our Home Study Courses, we were recently contact by a man living in Asia. He had found a couple sites offering a study course, but he wondered why their material never covered ghost photography or EVP recordings. He examined our courses via the web site and was amazed at how much more material we included than the other sites. He was right; the other sites simply cloned a home study program to sell, not caring how comprehensive or knowledgeable their courses were to the student. It is true we include nothing about psychics, mediums, or Ouija boards because we are a scientific organization that does not endorse the psychical approach. We teach the student how to use scientific tools to document the existence of ghosts, which anyone can duplicate with the same results. Our tools are off-the-shelf that require no modification or special technology. One promoter who offers a study courses on their web site has been filmed while conducting séances with a Ouija board in cemeteries. This person writes books based on material provided by psychics and ignores the scientific approach. It is no wonder the promoter's study course is lacking in so much that is available in our courses; it was cloned simply to make money, not to teach students about the spirit realm. We were the first to offer the study courses on the Internet starting back in 1998 when no one else had any training material available. The cloned courses appeared in about 2003, five years after our Ghost Researcher Certification had become the standard in the Ghost Hunting Community. We designed our courses for the serious student, not for the tire-kickers or the spur of the moment ghost hunter. We cover in-depth material that we have gained during our twenty-eight years of combined experience. When you complete our course, you will know as much as we do about ghosts and the spirit realm. We are the only full time ghost researchers traveling throughout the USA, conducting investigations in almost every state in the union. We know of no parapsychologist who is full time, all of them have day jobs outside parapsychology. Our day job involves conducting investigations, analyzing the data we acquire and sharing it with our readers. Have you noticed that when you email us, you almost always get an immediate response? If you email other ghost clubs, you generally get no response at all. They ignore you completely, unless you are purchasing something from them. One lady wrote us and asked why her EMF meter was taking over a month to be shipped to her. I checked our orders and replied that she did not order it from us. She wrote back and said we were right that it was another web site. We ship within 24 hours, unless it is the weekend when the Post Office is closed or the UPS does not run. Other web sites that sell ghost hunting equipment may ship up to six to eight weeks after receiving the payment. We try to be professional in all of our dealings because this is a way of life with us. Those of you who have ordered in the past understand what I am saying as we put the customer first. We do make mistakes and will be the first to admit to them, but we try hard to avoid the mistakes and do it right the first time. Sometimes in our travels, we are between Post Offices so we have to wait a day or two until we are near a town with a Post Office. We have been on the road now for four and half years since we elected to travel and explore America's most haunted sites. Sometimes the road is bumpy and sometimes we encounter pot holes in the road, but overall, the road has been a journey, not a destination for us. We have learned and experienced so much that it has enabled us to expand our awareness and to acquire a greater understanding of life after death. Happy trails. Dr. Sharon’s Notes: In this life there are people who seek answers, analyze material, read, research, and talk to others who are knowledgeable, all in the name of truth. Other people are willing to go about their daily lives and accept what they are taught, be it truth or not. I have lived for over fifty years and the history taught to me in school, I now discover to be biased and or racially colored. What I thought was truth turns out to be a snow job. As writers, we want to present the truth, not biased opinions, or white washed stories, but the reality of what took place. A good example comes from my own childhood experiences. I was raised in a Christian home where ghosts were considered demons and anyone associated with ghosts were doomed and barred from heaven. My mother still preaches to me today that I am going to be banned from heaven unless I repent and forsake ghost hunting. Through years of research, we find science is changing especially in the field of medical science. What we were assured years ago would aid us along the road to better health and longer lives, we now are finding to be harmful to us, even carcinogenic. Rather than fixing the origin causing diseases, we treat the symptoms by putting a band-aid over it to cover it, doing little more than hiding it from view. Out of sight, out of mind. The symptoms may be gone but alas, the patient dies. These are the days of modern medicine where appointments must be scheduled weeks in advance, waiting rooms are overcrowded, and malpractice insurance is out of sight. Hospitals are filled to capacity; surgeries are scheduled back to back, many of which are necessary and equally as many that are not, the cost of medical treatment is higher than we have ever seen in the history of this country. Schedules are so hectic that mistakes are made resulting in lawsuits for malpractice and needless death. The days of medical care from a family physician and house calls are a thing of the past. Our modern medicine is very expensive, but if we examine how the Indians treated their sick, we would discover a whole new world to alternative medicine. We spoke with the owner of a used book store in Grants, New Mexico. She told us that her grandfather was a member of the Zuni tribe and he was a healer. He could travel to the Zuni Mountains, pick flowers, and gather roots that would cure whoever was ill. He had the knowledge of local plants that most herbologist of today have no understanding of how those plants would be used in the treatment of those sick. She regretted not asking more questions and gaining some knowledge of what her grandfather knew. He passed away and now that knowledge is lost. Now, I am not comparing modern doctors who can do brain surgery and the Indian healers who heal, but I am saying that if you compare a country doctor who is a General Practitioner with an Indian healer, I suspect the Indian healer would have a better success rate then the GP doctor. Our history has changed and continues to change from what we were taught throughout our school years. In thinking back, much of what we were required to learn was superficial, barely touching on the historical significance of what took place, and why certain events led to hostility and chaos. Why this is the case can only be speculated upon but the truth lies in the fact that much of the recorded history not found in textbooks is not very pretty or as tame as we are told. If people would demand books like Bambi be removed from school libraries because the violence would impact young readers, the full history, were it taught in classrooms, would certainly effect young minds. Then again, it may be too much for our children to comprehend. Only as adults, in search of truth would they learn the truth in the events that molded America into what it is today. We discovered the early history of the Indians of New Mexico when the Spanish Conquistadors invaded this land in 1540. We discovered the brutality and atrocities committed by the Franciscan missionaries in the name of God and how the inhuman treatment of the Acoma Indians by Don Juan de Ornate, who was the governor of New Spain, resulted in his banishment. The Church and State made every attempt to destroy the Indian religion and culture, supplanting thousands of years of culture, with the Christian version, as they attempted to save the Indian souls. Religion has transformed with the passing of time, to meet the needs of a modern age. Centuries ago, religion was different from what we know it to be today. Little girls looked forward to dressing in their Sunday best dresses and paten leather shoes for church. Little boys donned Sunday suits and put on their best behavior to attend church and Sunday school. Saturday nights were designated bath nights preparing for the events of the next day. Sunday, a day of worship and something families did together. But those days have been left behind as today, woman think nothing of throwing on a pair of shorts and a cool top to attend services, men also tend to dress in this way. Respect for the place and the purpose seems to have gone by the wayside. The most devout of Christians have told me that church is a time to meet with Christian friends and socialize. The lilt of the organ and accompanying piano are also things of the past, having been replaced by loud bands that now play the old tunes that once touched people's hearts. The atmosphere itself within the walls of once sacred temples of worship has transformed into what seems just a step above the nightclub where parishioners drank and danced on Saturday night. Yet, Christians today profess to find God within the walls of churches. Personally, I would think with the changes that have taken place, they would find God weeping there. As I listened to a radio station in Wyoming one night, I listened to a preacher talk about modern religion and churches today. He spoke of the practice of tithing and the fact that no place in the Bible does it says God requires a ten percent tithing on our annual income. He seemed to be a sincere man, talking about the big fancy churches, preachers with their fancy cars and big homes. However, the Bible does talk about men of God not accepting purse or string but doing God's work by spreading God's word, from their hearts. Times have changed and though the scripture is ancient, man changes things to meet his own needs. Today, preachers known for their ministries and popular in the public eye are arrested for attempting to pick up ladies of the evening on street corners. They have been caught having affairs with a secretary then lying to their congregations about it. One minister sits aloft in a tower of power as God tells him to raise one million dollars or He will strike him dead! The word goes out on the airwaves and people give their money to spare the man's life. The preacher fades from view, as does the cool million. Priests are being arrested or relocated because they have chosen the ways of the pedophile, molesting young boys on the side, between confessions, counseling, teaching, and holding mass on Sundays. We have always trusted these men, almost as gods themselves, only to find they are as human as the rest of us. They are put on pedestals and fall hard. The Church has hidden the fact that the molesting has gone on for decades and has chosen to transfer the perpetrators to other churches to cover the problem rather than trying to solve it or put an end to it. If God is all knowing, they have only put a band-aid on the problem to cover it from view, knowing the actions are criminal in this country. The religion of today is built upon a rotten and cracked foundation that is fractured with brutality and atrocities committed by Christian missionaries. Now some will quickly speak out and pass the blame to the Catholic Church, but they are no better because they broke away from the Mother Church in a protesting movement and established their own creeds and doctrines. The point of this is that the foundation was not laid with the love, but for advancing the Christian cause, of baptizing Indians so they can become slaves to the missionaries or work the mines or fields of the land owned by the governor. This enslavement was the price of salvation for the American Indian. The Church and State enslaved the American Indians and today we call this a land of the free. We depend on our teachers to teach truth and guide us along the path of learning. Children are taught from history books written from slanted viewpoints and we do not question the material we learn. However, as adults, we learn by choice yet still dependent on learning from those in positions to teach and train. We have unanswered questions or we find discrepancies, we have the ability to strike out on our own to discover the truth. It is not always an easy process or a pleasant one and at times, we find truth to be painful. Yet, we can be thankful for the opportunity to discover the truth to be found among the myth we have been taught. As people, Dave and Sharon strive to find answers, to discover truth and solve mysteries in this life. As authors, we share the knowledge we have gained and the truth that lies just below the surface of what we have been taught throughout our lives. We search throughout this country for the real and the unreal, the natural and supernatural, for the normal and the paranormal. We are told the truth shall set us free and to seek truth in everything. We are free to choose and free to change our ways of thinking and believing as the individuals that we are. Rather than being a sheep among a flock, it's time there were more Shepard’s in this world, willing to dig into the archives of mankind and share the truth with those who desire the knowledge.
